Civil Engineer → iOS Developer → Founder

Hi, I'm Pavly, the founder of GoodShift. My path here wasn't a straight line: I trained as a civil engineer, fell in love with building software, and now I build products that make everyday work simpler and fairer.

My journey

Studied Civil Engineering for five years at The British University in Egypt, graduating in 2019 with a dual degree from London South Bank University (UK).

Spent around two years at EEC, then moved to GSEC, where I work as a structural engineer, a role I genuinely enjoy.

Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI).

What I do

Building GoodShift

Two products, Climo and GoodShift, designed and built for the way work actually happens in Egypt: on a phone, in Arabic and English, with money handled carefully.

Writing

A weekly newsletter, Monday Snippets, with book, article and podcast recommendations and notes from the journey of an indie developer.

Investing in the open

Investing in the stock market since August 2022, and sharing the journey openly.

Freelancing

Started by building websites for clients on small projects and grew into an expert, reflected in a 5-star rating on Upwork.
